Birra! Is Punta Arenas's reference brewery, and it knows it. Wood paneling, classic rock at proper volume, and a bell you ring to enter create an atmosphere that holds you the moment you step through the door - especially when Patagonian wind is hammering outside. The real argument is the beer list: Chilean and international craft selections, a Calafate Spritz, and sampler flights curated by the bartender are the peaks of the experience. Food works when you order carefully - the charcuterie board and lamb or shredded-beef burgers are solid - but the kitchen is inconsistent. Dishes arrive dry, cold, or in portions that don't justify the price, and weekday availability on the beer menu can be spotty. Order with beer as the lead and food as the supporting act.
The craft beer list, anchored by the Calafate Spritz and the samplers the bartender puts together, is the real reason to come here. The food holds up as a side act, but the kitchen is inconsistent, so treat the table and the mechado burger as backup, not the plan
