Alberto de Agostini does what it's designed to do: plant you steps from Puerto Natales' main plaza, surrounded by shops, pharmacies, and restaurants, with a breakfast the kitchen adjusts without fuss for 4 a.m. Departures. Rooms are scrupulously clean and the front desk staff genuinely attentive - they've been known to prepare tea for sick guests. The physical experience, though, has real limits. Rooms are genuinely cramped (suitcase opening is optimistic), and when sun hits the building they become ovens with no air conditioning or meaningful ventilation. Bathrooms come with their own shortcomings. One detail repeats across stays: a staff member's watchful, curt manner during breakfast creates consistent discomfort. This is a functional base camp, not a destination.
